Leah Feirman

Leah Feirman is an International Studies and German double major from Mobile, Alabama, with a minor in Business Analytics. Through the Gulf Scholars Program, she hopes to examine issues affecting her home region alongside students and faculty with a wide range of perspectives.

For her Gulf Impact Project, Leah is considering a comparative case study of waterways in Mississippi and Alabama and their German counterparts. She hopes the project can encourage cross-Atlantic exchanges around shared challenges, including sea-level rise, erosion, and energy use. Leah is especially interested in exploring themes of environmental resilience and reverence for nature, and she hopes to leave the program with a deeper appreciation for the Gulf region.
