Anna Claire Carter

Anna Claire Carter is a Southern Studies major from Jonesboro, Arkansas, with minors in Community Engaged Leadership and Political Science. Through the Gulf Scholars Program, she hopes to explore storytelling and oral history as ways to document the experiences of people directly affected by challenges in the Gulf region. Anna Claire is especially interested in how environmental change shapes people’s relationships to place and is excited to learn from Gulf Coast experts, community leaders, and fellow scholars while developing a deeper connection to Mississippi and the Gulf Coast.
