Who we are
Tanner Lab is a diverse team working at the intersection of chemistry and bioengineering to develop innovative and novel drug delivery systems. We strive to answer critical questions about the efficacy and efficiency of nanomaterials, such as ionic liquids, in delivering therapeutic agents for the treatment of cancer, HIV, malaria, Alzheimer’s, and other cell-related diseases. Our research explores how these nanoscopic materials enhance permeability through physiological barriers, increase cell-to-cell interactions in complex tissue environments, and evaluate their biocompatibility, biodegradability, and toxicological integrity.
