Kayla Pennycuff
Kayla is a first-year social psychology graduate student in the Experimental Psychology program. She received her B.S. in psychology with a minor in biology from High Point University. Broadly, Kayla’s research interests focus on how media consumption and technology usage affect social connection and disconnection and mental well-being. Her main interest is in exploring the utility of parasocial relationships as a coping response for ostracism or social isolation and examining various personality and mood characteristics that may underlie positive and negative outcomes of this response. In her free time, Kayla enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with her friends and family.
