Dr. Nacer Akkouri
Dr. Nacer Akkouri holds a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Mohammadia School of Engineers (EMI), Mohammed V University, Morocco, with research focused on sustainable asphalt materials and polymer-modified bitumen incorporating recycled plastics. He is currently a Research Scientist at the Center for Graphene Research and Innovation (CGRI) at the University of Mississippi, where his research focuses on graphene-based and advanced nanomaterials for sustainable, high-performance asphalt and concrete infrastructure. Prior to joining CGRI, Dr. Akkouri was a researcher at the High Throughput Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory (HTMR) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University and a postdoctoral researcher at the MAScIR Foundation, working on self-healing and innovative pavement materials. He also brings extensive industrial and engineering experience in pavement construction, plastics, and materials research and development.
