Dr. Matteo D'Alessio
Associate Professor of Civil Engineering
Dr. D'Alessio received his M.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from "La Sapienza" University, (Rome, Italy) in 2006 and his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Hawaii at Mānoa in 2014. He worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow between 2014 and 2018 and as a Research Assistant Professor between 2018 and 2019 at the Nebraska Water Center and at the Civil and Environmental Department, University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He joined the Civil Engineering (CE) Department at the University of Mississippi in 2020 as an Assistant Professor. He is currently an Associate Professor in the CE department. His research interests include water quality and pollution control with an emphasis on sustainable wastewater and water treatment science and technology, water reuse, fate and transport of contaminants, energy/water/food nexus, and citizen science.
