Research Interests
Research focuses on the application of GeoAI to improve remote sensing and geology applications. By integrating machine learning and artificial intelligence with geospatial data, Dr. Yarbrough enhances the analysis and modeling of Earth's systems. In the field of remote sensing, he uses GeoAI to downscale satellite data, such as GRACE, for more accurate assessments of groundwater and total water storage in aquifer systems. In geology, GeoAI is applied to lithologic modeling, providing improved insights into subsurface structures. His work advances environmental monitoring, resource management, and predictive modeling in the geosciences and engineering.
