Alaa Y. Darwesh is a Ph.D. candidate in Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery at the University of Mississippi, conducting research in the PharmE3D Lab under Prof. Mohammed Maniruzzaman. Her work combines advanced electrospinning and 3D printing to create personalized, controlled-release drug delivery platforms, including ocular mini tablets, transdermal films, and scaffold-based systems with strong translational potential. With prior experience as an Assistant Lecturer and international research exposure at UT Austin, she brings expertise in polymer-based formulations, solid-state characterization, and in vivo pharmacokinetic evaluation, and is a co-inventor on multiple patents in advanced drug delivery.
