I am a skilled computational glycoscientist with over 14 years of experience performing advanced computations on glycans, proteins, and related biomolecules. I have a strong background in applying computational chemistry and bioinformatics approaches to solve glycoscience problems. During my research career, I have been trained in the labs of leading glycoscientists [Prof. Jaroslav Koča, Prof Michaela Wimmerová (CEITEC, Czechia), Prof. Yoshiki Yamaguchi (RIKEN, Japan); and Prof. Lokesh Joshi (National University of Ireland, Galway, Ireland)], collaborated with Prof. Naoyuki Taniguchi and Professor Taroh Kinoshita (Osaka University, Japan) and published many articles in computational glycoscience. I have laid the groundwork for advanced glycoscience computations, including modeling of complex glycans and their interaction with proteins/antibodies, the structure and function of glycopolymers and the substrate binding mechanism of glycan-modifying enzymes. This is reflected in my >30 glycoscience-oriented research publications. As the manager of the Computational Chemistry and Bioinformatics Research Core (CCBRC) during Phase I, I successfully performed high-quality computations for RPLs and published multiple research articles with them, oversaw the purchase and maintenance of the CCBRC computing facilities, and provided workshops and training on computational glycoscience. I have ensured that the facilities are up-to-date and equipped with the latest computational tools required for conducting cutting-edge glycoscience research. As a result of these experiences, I am aware of the importance of computational support for GlyCORE RPLs to advance their careers and of the value to develop the capabilities required to build a self-sustainable center of research excellence.
