Tyler Henry B.A. (Spring 2026)

May 8, 2026

Tyler was a former undergraduate research assistant and former student in Dr. Oliphant’s Fall 2025 Black Psychology course who aspired to become a clinical psychologist. Following the course, he developed a vision to create healing circles for Black men on campus aimed at fostering culturally meaningful spaces of support and restoration. Recognizing his leadership and commitment to community-centered healing, Dr. Oliphant invited him to join the lab. During his time in the lab, Tyler contributed to the submission of an IRB proposal to support the development of Black men’s healing circles as a research initiative through the CCCR Lab. He also presented a research poster at The University of Mississippi Psychology Research Day on April 17th examining the importance of sacred healing spaces for Black men in collegiate environments.
